Get to Know Superstar Aly Raisman

If you have tuned in to the past two summer Olympic games, you have heard of Alexandra ‘Aly’ Raisman. The decorated American Olympian was a member of the 2012 “Fierce Five” at the London summer games and 2016 “Final Five” in Rio.  The gymnast has taken home Olympic medals for individual floor and beam exercises and more recently, the team gold medal at the 2016 Rio summer games. On and off of the mat, Aly Rasiman has been a role model for #AlyceGirls everywhere. Here is a list of 10 times that Aly Raisman gave us #goals.

She helped the USA win Gold:

Raisman was one of the five competing gymnasts on the Team All-Around Final at last year’s summer Olympics. The group competed at the Rio Olympic Arena on Aug. 9, 2016 and brought home the gold for Team USA.

She helped Team USA win a historic number of medals:

In the 2016 Rio games, the Final Five won a historic number of medals. The Final Five’s title was the first time any U.S. team had won back-to-back golds. Aly won her fourth, fifth and sixth medals in Rio – bringing her up to speed as one of the most decorated gymnasts, ever.

The time she casually competed on DWTS:

When she wasn’t dancing on the compeition mat, this Olympian danced on our small screens. Raisman competed on Dancing With the Stars in 2013, co-partnering with Mark Ballas. The duo ultimately ended up coming in 4th place.

She stood up for body positivity:

Aly is no stranger to bullying. She has spoken out about being subjected to cruelty from the other kids at school that ridiculed her muscles and body type. She has said that boys made fun of her for being “too muscular”. Using these muscles, Aly went on to be one of the best gymnasts in the world. Aly explained on her personal Instagram, attributing the post to the #PerfectNever campaign.

She knows a thing or two about dressing up:

ALYCE Girls know a thing or two about formal wear. Aly and her teammates gave us all the dress goals we needed as they headed off to the CMA awards last fall. Laurie Hernandez, Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Madison Kocian, and Gabby Douglas attend the 50th annual CMA Awards at the Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 2, 2016.
